NPT
Short for National (American) Pipe Thread. It is a 60° tapered pipe thread following US standards, widely adopted across North America. Its corresponding Chinese national standard is GB/T12716-1991.
G Thread
A 55° non-pressure-sealing pipe thread belonging to the Whitworth thread family. The symbol "G" stands for parallel cylindrical thread, governed by Chinese national standard GB/T7307-2001.
ZG (RC)
Commonly known as conical pipe thread. It is machined on a conical surface and formally designated as RC in national standard documents.
Metric threads are defined by pitch; British and American pipe threads are specified by the number of threads per inch.
Metric threads feature a 60° equilateral thread profile; British threads adopt a 55° isosceles profile, while American NPT threads use a 60° profile.
Metric threads adopt metric measurement units, whereas British and American threads use imperial inch units.
Pipe threads are designed for tight interconnection of piping systems, available in parallel cylindrical and tapered types. Their nominal diameter refers to the inner diameter of the matched pipeline, which is smaller than the major diameter of the thread itself. Sizes such as 1/4", 1/2" and 1/8" denote the nominal diameter of imperial pipe threads, measured in inches.
