Although compact in size, a micro magnetic gear pump houses a precision system internally that must contend with multiple challenges such as high pressure, friction, corrosion, and temperature fluctuations. Material serves as the foundation for all this, determining the pump's wear resistance, lifespan, stability, and more. Beyond design, process, assembly, testing, and systems, the quality of materials is the first watershed separating an "ordinary product" from a "high-performance solution."

Suofu has been deeply involved in micro magnetic gear pumps for sixteen years. Its NP Series rivals international giants in this field with its high precision (±0.1%) and long lifespan (>20,000 hours). One of its core supporting pillars is being "meticulous" about the raw materials for every component. Today, Suofu will first analyze the PEEK material applied to gears and bearings.

01. Is the "Plastic Gold" Failing?

Many friends, when selecting gear materials for micro pumps, feel assured upon seeing "PEEK" – after all, it's the gold standard among plastics, one of the most wear-resistant materials. However, the wear resistance of PEEK also has different tiers.

On top of the base PEEK raw material, adding substances like carbon fiber or glass fiber can further enhance its hardness, friction performance, etc. For gears, PEEK with enhanced friction performance can meet demands for higher rotational speeds, higher loads, and longer lifespans. Suofu introduces the key parameter PV value (Pressure × Velocity) to intuitively judge the load-bearing capacity and operational stability of different modified PEEK materials under sliding friction conditions.

02. The Performance Gap of Different PV Values

The wear resistance gap between PEEK with different enhancement formulations can be severalfold. As shown in the figure below, under low-load conditions, the wear rate of pure carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK is 3.5 times that of Suofu's specialty-enhanced PEEK, and the wear rate of the first-generation wear-resistant grade material is 1 time that of Suofu's specialty-enhanced PEEK.

When conditions escalate to high-load scenarios that more closely resemble the actual meshing environment of micro gear pumps, this difference is further amplified: the wear rate of Suofu's specialty-enhanced PEEK is far lower than the former two, demonstrating superior wear resistance and stability under high loads.

The first-generation wear-resistant grade material has a maximum usable velocity of 2m/s, while Suofu's specialty-enhanced PEEK can still maintain a load-bearing capacity above 3MPa even at 4m/s.

03. Suofu Defines a New Standard for Wear Resistance

Suofu pumps select raw materials from top-tier global PEEK suppliers. After independent modification, this material is applied to the gears and bearings of the micro pumps. It is not only extremely wear-resistant, with a lifespan exceeding 20,000 hours, but also maintains high precision (±0.1%) with long-term stability during operation.

The stringent screening and detailed optimization of core materials ultimately translate into the tangible performance advantages of the Suofu NP Series, significantly expanding the performance boundaries of micro magnetic gear pumps.

Currently, the Suofu NP Series precisely matches the precision fluid handling needs of over 60 industries and has become the preferred solution for more than 2,000 clients. It is widely used in fields such as aerospace, chip manufacturing, data center liquid cooling, military radar, nuclear power, lithium batteries, lithium battery fire protection, fuel cells, supercharging stations, offshore wind power systems, dark matter laboratories, deep-sea 6000 meters, magnetic levitation high-speed compressors, IGBT testing, diesel engine exhaust after-treatment, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, pharmaceuticals, and chemical industries.

04. Conclusion

Beyond gears and shafts, every Suofu micro pump undergoes seven pre-delivery tests before official shipment: noise test, vibration test, wear resistance test, flow rate test, pressure performance test, pressure endurance test, and energy consumption test. Only after all meet qualified standards can the pump be shipped. Suofu not only provides standard factory tests but can also offer customized testing according to your specific operating point requirements.
